Top 5 Films You Must See

1.  The Godfather- Its not on my list of favorite movies. Its not something I can watch more than once a year, but the fact is that The Godfather is a classic and set the standard for Mobster movies.

2. The Breakfast Club- If you can't tell I was born in the early 80's... well, I was. John Hughes was brilliant and The Breakfast Club is a must see, if only to understand High School and the 80's.

3. Anchorman- Its defined comedy for this generation. Even if you hate it, get used to it because every comedy made in the next 10 years will draw upon its ridiculous influence.

4. The Big Lebowski- The dude abides. See the movie, man. You're being very un-dude by not seeing it, man.

5. Fight Club- Existential, fatalistic psychotic violence. Its the dark, gritty film you don't even know you want to watch.

Top 5 Favorite Albums for Walking Around Chicago

There's very few things I like more than popping ear buds in my ear and walking somewhere in downtown Chicago. I prefer that my walks have soundtracks though, and following is my favorite five albums to listen to as I walk around the city.

1. As Tall As Lions -As Tall As Lions - People will eventually catch on that this is my default album for every activity, but it has everyone of my go to emotions and the catchy tunes and deep lyrics resonate strongly with walking around a city filled with diverse people.

2. Blind Pilot- 3 Rounds and A Sound - Blind Pilot is relatively new to me but the fact that they did a "bike tour" (touring on bikes with custom made trailers for their equipment) is probably one of the coolest tour stories I've ever heard. They're songs are ballad-esque and thus are perfect when dodging glances of the people walking between Starbucks.

3. Broken Bells- Broken Bells -Danger Mouse and James Mercer (Lead vocals/guitarist of The Shins) in an indie collaboration that is as diverse as its two musicians. Its experimental, and driven by consistent beats and delicate melodies. It matches my stride quite well when I'm walking around.

4. Paper Route- Absence- Harmony and dissonance, indie rock at its simplest. It screams to the tell stories of city dwellers.

5. Wakey!Wakey!- Almost Everything I Wish I'd Said the Last Time I Saw You- Driven by piano skills that make me green with envy, Wakey!Wakey! is the deep music I love to listen to as my mind glues the lyrics to the people I see waiting for the L.
